Daily Berberine Supplement

One thing that I actually dislike about a good number of supplements is when they mix a bunch of other stuff into the capsule so that you can combine what you get into one capsule. While that sounds good in theory, it can actually be a bother when you are taking multiple supplements and the same combinations show up in items you are not looking for. I see Vitamin D in many of my supplements, and I don't NEED any to be in there, but here I am paying for more ingredients. I love that this is JUST berberine. I want to take JUST berberine for blood sugar control and this allows me to do that without having to look at all of the additions to see if there will be anything in it that will interfere with the absorption of other things. I have had no side effects with taking this particular version of Berberine. My blood sugar seems in control, but honestly I do not test it since I am not diabetic. It was more because my doctor told me I was close to prediabetic and I want to avoid that at all costs. No notable change in energy, but I was taking a different version previously, so I didn't expect any real difference. It is a 60 day supply at 1 capsule a day, so $24.99 (at the time of this review) is very reasonable.

The capsules are easy to swallow and have no odor or taste. The one-cap-a-day dosage is incredibly convenient, and the current $25 price for a 2-month supply of 60 capsules offers a reasonably good value. However, it's important to note that this value is only applicable if the capsules are effective enough for you to justify the expense.

Coming from a company I've already enjoyed buying from, this was an easy choice for me.

I've taken one 200 mg capsule daily for about two weeks, usually around a meal containing carbohydrates. During the first few days, I experienced quite a bit of gas and increased bowel movements. The gas settled down after a couple of days, although I am definitely more "regular" than I was before taking this. I haven't experienced any noticeable sleepiness or energy crashes after meals, and my weight has remained stable. I train intensely several days a week, so it's difficult to judge appetite changes on training days because I'm naturally hungrier. On rest days, however, I have noticed that my appetite seems somewhat easier to control and I haven't felt as inclined to overeat. Two weeks isn't long enough for me to make claims about long-term weight or blood-sugar effects, but after the initial digestive adjustment, I've tolerated it well and have noticed enough of a difference in appetite on rest days to continue using it.
